70th anniversary of the remembrance day of the Roma Genocide on August 2, “Kosovo Journey to HISTORY”
On 10th of November 2015, a donors meeting “Promotion of Peaceful Coexistence” was held in Prishtinë/Pristina on the – Outcomes from the Peaceful Coexistence workshops and meetings among communities in Kroi i Vitakut/Brdjani, Mahalla e Bosnjakëve/Bošnjacka Mahala, Kodra e Minatorëve/Mikronaselje, Lagjja e Doktorëve dhe 7 shtatori/Doktorska Dolina and Kolasinska in Mitrovicë/Mitrovica North municipality; Serbobran/Srbobran – Istog/Istok municipality; Plemetinë/a – Obiliq/Obilic and Berivojcë/Borivojce – Kamenicë/Kamenica municipality. The aim of this donors meeting was to bring together relevant interlocutors and stakeholders in order to be presented Concept Notes developed by communities, which reflect the identification of common problems faced in their daily lives, and their possible solutions.
On Thursday, 5th of November, a round table to discuss the development of the new Kosovo policy for the inclusion of Kosovo Roma, Kosovo Ashkali and Kosovo Egyptian communities was held in Prishtine/Pristina.
The round table facilitated a discussion on lessons learnt from the implementation of the Action Plan of the Strategy for Integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities in Kosovo (2009–2015). KAADs participation in the roundtable as one of the Platform members is another step undertaken to enhance the inclusion and protection of fundamental rights of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities in Kosovo.
The Platform of civil society organizations has been established to serve as a focal point for joint action of civil society organizations dealing with protection and promotion of rights of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities in Kosovo.
Pejë/Peć 26-29 October 2015 – Four day workshop/training on strengthening and capacity building for the Municipal Return Officers and Municipal Community Offices in four northern municipalities (Mitrovica North, Zveçan/Zvećan, Zubin Potok and Leposaviq/Leposavić) on Regulation 02/2010 for Municipal Offices for Communities and Return and their ToR.
Presentation and Case Studies (work in groups) on needs assessment, referral and provision of assistance, human rights and reintegration monitoring upon voluntary return.
28-30/09/2015 Implementation of the Students Initiative Projects (SIP) “BE MY FRIEND” Roma Versitas Kosovo Program.
During three days of the SIP implementtation we had a different activities, Workshop on Identity, Premiere of the documentary “Journey to History” (film made by the Roma Versitas Kosovo Students), Literary Time, Happy Hour (our special guests during the activities were) Rona Nishliu and Jimmy Band, and football tournament (held with Roma and non-Roma Kosovo Students).

Prishtinë/Pristina, on 10 September 2015, Kosovo Agency for Advocacy and Development (KAAD) participated in the first coordination meeting on capacity building for the Municipal Offices for Communities and Return of four northern municipalities in Kosovo. The meeting was attended by Ministry of Communities and Return, Ministry of Local Governance Administration, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Office of Community Affairs within the office of the Prime Minister, UNHCR and OSCE.
The aim of this meeting was planning for upcoming workshop on capacity building for the Municipal Offices for Communities and Return in northern municipalities: Mitrovica/Mitrovicë North, Zveçan/Zvećan, Zubin Potok and Leposaviq/Leposavić.
Assessment activity of Municipal Field Team in Mitrovicë/Mitrovica
Kosovo Agency for Advocacy and Development and members of the Municipal Field Team visited a Kosovo Albanian family of four members, displaced in Mitrovicë/Mitrovica south. To be able to return at their home in northern part of Mitrovica town, the family needs a renovation of the apartment. After the assessment, the Municipal Field Team recommended the case to the Ministry of Communities and Return for assistance.
03-06/09/2015 The RomaVersitas International Student Summit, the first meeting bringing together RV university students, RV managers and observers from Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Serbia and Slovakia for interactive panels and discussions on the future of the Roma community.

2/ July 2015 KAAD/Roma Versitas Advisory Board meeting.
On 4 June 2015, Kosovo Agency for Advocacy and Development KAAD facilitated a meeting withrepresentatives of the K/Albanian, K/Serb, K/Roma and K/Ashkali communitiesof Plemetinë/Plemetina, Obiliq/Obilić municipality, in order to discuss with them and agree upon project proposals for community-based projects. Six ideas in the field of community based projects have been identified as of common interest.
Prof. Ibrahim Elshani author and translator of many books, on 11th May 2015 in Prizren, donated a considerable number of books and magazines for the Roma Versitas Program – KAAD library. Highly appreciation for the contribution of the Prof. Elshani our program library is enriched with books that will be used by our students for scientific work which stuudents will do during their studies.

20/04/2015 Roma Versitas Students (Elementary and Pre-Intermediate group) during the certificate ceremony for attending English Course organized by KAAD/Roma Versitas Kosovo Program! 31/03/2015 KAAD/Roma Versitas Kosovo Program has organized/held training with its students on “Communication and CV writing” in cooperation with Innovation Center Kosovo. At the end of training Roma Versitas Students received Certificate for attending the Training.
18/03/2015 KAAD/Roma Versitas Kosovo Program has organized training with its students on Time Management in cooperation with Innovation Center Kosovo. During the training, students learned to manage their time in order to be more efficient during their studies and work. 23 December 2014: KAAD General Assembly meeting took place in KAAD HQ premises located in Prishtina. KAAD’s Executive Director, Mr. Ibishi presented the 2014 conducted activities, the fundraising and the completion of the strategic plans of KAAD which are to be implemented in future.
